The meeting started around 3:15 at Cablea’s with an estimated 32 people in attendance.  Registration is open for SolidWorks World 2010.  Lots of folks attended the SWUGN summit in Bursnville.  So, I won’t be giving my tips and tricks presentation at a user group meeting…:-)

I introduced Rebekah Haag from Symmetry Solutions.

Rebekah gave her Mate Reference presentation.  Rebekah showed (and explained) how to use and set-up Mate References.  She also showed some mate tips.

Rebekah showed how to set-up Smart Components.  All example files are in the SolidWorks Tutorials.

5:15pm       Open Discussion

Opened the floor to Q and A.  There were a few questions and some folks brought in example files.  One member brought in a prototype from Rapid SheetMetal.  He was very pleased with the cost as well as the time it took to make the part.  No drawing required..!!

5:30pm       Raffle/Food and refreshments

The meeting ended with a raffle for some great SolidWorks prizes.   We had pizza and pop as usually.  Thanks to Rebekah from Symmetry Solutions for her time to answer some technical questions and her presentations.

If anyone would like to give a presentation, just email me.  All presenters get a $25 gift card..!!  You can’t beat that.!!

Our next meeting will be in November.  Look for the meeting notice.  Please let me know if you have any comments or ideas for future meetings.

Thank you for attending.

Sincerely

Rob Jensen - President, Southern MN SolidWorks User Group
